SEN Teaching Assistant – Southwark , SE London – Immediate Start

We are working with a friendly primary school in Southwark who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to start immediately.

You will be supporting students with additional needs throughout the school. These will be both academic needs and social needs.

This role will offer you experience in the classroom in both a 1:1 and whole class capacity, providing specific intervention support to children with a variety of needs, whilst also giving you access to develop your knowledge and experience within Education. You will be supporting the academic and social development of students in Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 who are currently working behind their peers.

This is a fantastic, friendly primary school that invests time into upskilling their support staff, you will receive excellent training and development in the role, support will come from the school’s friendly SENCo.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in providing care and education to students
  • Support the implementation of lesson plans and educational activities
  • Provide individualized attention and support to children with special needs, including those with autism
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other teaching assistants to ensure effective classroom management
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns
