Are you a Graduate with strong phonics experience who is passionate about the importance of developing pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the relationship between written symbols and sounds?
We are looking for a Phonics Teaching Assistant who has sound knowledge and expertise in the teaching of Phonics, running interventions, and raising attainment.
This is a rare and unique role, especially within a secondary school, to combine your skills and knowledge to deliver small-group Phonics interventions, across all key stages with a particular focus on KS3.
As their Phonics Teaching Assistant, you will be able to identify gaps in their knowledge and with that, deliver specialist Phonics interventions to further support their understanding and progress. Working closely with their impressive SLT, SENCo and team of passionate educators to monitor, track and feedback on progress.
This Phonics Teaching Assistant role is a higher-level teaching assistant post and a stepping stone role for someone with school experience, looking to deepen their knowledge and skillset in a well-run school, with lots of support available. This would particularly suit someone with primary school experience, looking to transfer their skillset into a secondary environment.
Situated in the heart of Wandsworth, South West London. They have the northern line and Southwestern railway links nearby with plenty of bus networks that connect the area.
This Phonics Teaching Assistant role is being offered on a long-term contract, for the entire academic year with the option of going permanent after 2 terms. You will be paid a starting rate of £110 that will increase to £124 after 12 working weeks. Working hours will be 8-4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
