The School
This Outstanding Secondary Academy in Westminster is searching for an outstanding individual to co-ordinate and administer the HE aspect of the Academy’s sixth form to embed a rigorous academic enrichment programme from Year 7 all the way through to Year 13, to foster a culture of academic enquiry. This non-teaching post is a hugely exciting one for someone who is ambitious for young people, knowledgeable about HE support and particular UCAS, one who has a fine attention to detail and the drive and vision to set projects in motion.
The Higher Education and Enrichment Co-ordinator will have strong knowledge of all aspects of post-16 HE guidance, have an excellent understanding of the Widening Participation agenda and an ability to train staff and to support and advise young people throughout their sixth form journey. They will also have an understanding of what excellent scholarship looks like from KS3 to KS5 and the ability to plan and coordinate a program to support students’ in developing their academic skills and interests.
Their main role is to provide higher education support and guidance to all students to enable them to make HE-related decisions and to help them acquire the necessary skills to manage their university applications successfully. The role will involve working closely with the Associate Assistant Principal Sixth Form and the rest of the Sixth Form team, including tutors. You will have the confidence to lead our Higher Education programme, helping to establish and maintain strong lines of communication between students, parents/ guardians and school staff.
