Graduate Teaching Assistant Secondary – September 2023/24 – Teacher Training opportunities

Starting ASAP for the remainder of this academic year, with the view to move into Teacher Training from September 2024.

This school believes in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to thrive.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCO to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, delivering tailored interventions and strategies to promote their academic, social, and emotional development – tailored to your specialist subject area!
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), monitoring progress and providing feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence, self-esteem, and confidence among students.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt and differentiate curriculum materials and learning activities to meet the individual needs of students – tailored to your specialist subject area!
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and participation.
